Dimension Intersections

Used to dimension the intersection points between an imaginary line and the graphical elements in the design file and the displayed reference files.

Accessed from:

Key-in: tfdimension intersections
Tip: Prior to using the Dimension Intersections tool, turn off display of the reference files to prevent calculation of unwanted intersection dimensions.
Tip: Dimension intersections are included in drawings when they are located within the drawing definition sensitive zone. This is managed using the Cut settings for Unify and Connect Centerlines in the View Attributes, General panel for Building.

SettingDescription
Tolerance Sets the smoothness of the curve.

Curved elements that are intersected are segmented prior to dimensioning the intersection points.

Tolerance is the maximum deviation between the actual curve and the approximating line segments for arc and curved elements.

As the value in the tolerance field decreases, the curve becomes smoother.

Add Line If on, places the intersection line in the design file.
Full Dynamics If on, dynamically displays the dimensions when the position of the dimension line is defined.
Type Controls the type of dimension line:
  • Arrow — Uses the Dimension with Arrow tool.
  • Stroke — Uses the Dimension with Stroke tool.

The terminators for these lines can be set in the Dimension Styles dialog.
